Meet The Team

Cathy joined the Retirement Learning Center in 2010 as a Senior ERISA Consultant and has over 23 years of experience in the retirement industry. She was the first employee to work remotely for RLC when she moved eight years ago from Brainerd, MN, to Asotin, WA. She is glad to work at O3 now and looks forward to working in a larger company with more technological capabilities while helping RLC grow.

In 1999, Cathy started her career at Universal Pensions, Inc. (UPI) as a Compliance Specialist in the compliance testing department, preparing compliance testing and Form 5500 services for employer-sponsored plans. She quickly moved into a Senior Compliance Specialist position in the department, overseeing the training of staff as well as assisting plan sponsors and answering their questions on testing and 5500s. In 2005, Cathy became an ERISA Consultant at Ascensus (formerly called UPI and Bisys), preparing document reviews, responding to ERISA technical questions, teaching educational training classes, and assisting Ascensus clients with plan qualification issues and corrective calculations. She helped plan sponsors complete correction programs to bring their plans back into compliance with the IRS and DOL regulations. This included submitting plan corrections to the IRS under VCP and preparing submissions to the DOL under VFCP. Cathy maintains a Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA).

Cathy and her husband Gary are busy with their three sons, who are all married, and five grandchildren (with a sixth to be born this summer).
